Rent a bike
A trip to the historic centre is an easy, pleasant bike ride taking you past the main monuments in Florence. The main monuments are concentrated in the historic centre, which is spread over a reasonably large area, ideal for visiting by bike!
Cascine Park and the ride out to Renai are particularly suitable for families with children.
The “Half day” itineraries reach the heart of the Tuscan hills. The traffic on these routes is generally light, but it’s always possible, and normal, to meet cars along the way.
The short ride to Santa Margherita a Montici includes the easy climb to Piazzale Michelangiolo and an amazing panoramic viewpoint, with a possible stop at the nearby Church of San Miniato al Monte. The route isn’t too long and allows you to enjoy incredible glimpses of the city, despite not being in the open countryside.
One of the most recommended routes, heading south, is the ride to Impruneta with the ride to San Casciano .Heading north, the ride to Fiesole, an interesting tourist spot 10km from the city, is certainly an appealing proposition.
The ride to Pontassieve is a rather easy itinerary, but we suggest you do it at the weekend given the heavy traffic on both sides of the Arno during the week.
